LIVING THE DREAM

 Being closer to nature, less stressed and a better quality of life was what Diederik and Charlotte were looking for when they decided to emigrate to France. They found their dream home in 2018 in the Regional Natural Park of Millevaches en Limousin, to the east of Limoges.

The switch from the Netherlands to France was not a difficult choice for Diederik & Charlotte. After years of full-time employment, they decided it was time for a change and start their own business, embarking on a new adventure abroad.

"We immediately fell for the rural environment and the favourable house prices… you get a lot for your money in this part of France”. The decision was especially easy when they discovered a beautiful longère in which they now run a chambres d'hôtes and gîte business.

"The quality of life here is a lot better for us than in the Netherlands. No stress and much more enjoyment from the house, nature, peace and all the open space. We now have more time to be creative, rummage the local markets looking for beautiful and unusual things, working in the garden and relaxing afterwards reading a good book."

Diederik and Charlotte found their dream home through our Dutch agent at Limousin4U. They opened their chambres d'hôtes and gîte in the summer of 2018. The first year was mainly testing, but now things are going really well.

"It is fantastic to receive guests from all corners of the world and to help them experience this region." In addition to staying overnight, guests can also dine there. Diederik and Charlotte cook according to the season and use walnuts, apples, currants, cherries, herbs and grapes from their garden.
Even their French visitors are positively surprised by this relatively unknown and yet stimulating part of France.
